The Teignbridge Sports Personality Awards have become one of the best events of its kind in the Southwest and you can nominate a person or team who you feel has made a difference in sport or health within the district over the last 12 months.

Details and a nomination form can be found by visiting www.activeteignbridge.org/sportspersonality2010 or pick up a nomination for at one of the Teignbridge Council leisure centres, reports local councillor Alan Connett.

• All the nominees must live or be in full-time education within the district of Teignbridge.
• To be eligible for all junior awards, the individual must be under 16 years of age on 31st March 2010.
• To be eligible for the Young Persons award, the individual must be under 18 years of age on 31st March 2010.
• Individuals can only be nominated for one category of award.
• All nominations must be received by Friday 20th August 2010.

The presentation evening for the Awards will take place on Friday 26th November 2010 at the Langstone Cliff Hotel in Dawlish Warren.

The nominations received for each category of award will be short listed to a maximum of three, who will then be invited to attend the presentation evening along with a guest. In addition to all short listed nominees, their nominators will also be invited to attend the awards ceremony.
